About Us

GOOD BOURBON FOR A GOOD CAUSE was founded by Dan and Nancy Garrison of Garrison Brothers Distillery with a simple belief that bourbon can bring people together to do extraordinary good. Since 2018, the organization has transformed gatherings, special releases, and community events into powerful engines for philanthropy. To date, more than 1.4 million dollars has been raised to strengthen Texas communities, honor and support veterans, and preserve the natural and cultural heritage of the state.

Our Mission

Our mission is rooted in generosity and service. Guided by our bylaws, GOOD BOURBON FOR A GOOD CAUSE directs funds toward organizations that serve current and former military personnel and their families, preserve Texas history and landscapes, and provide relief and opportunity for those facing hardship. From veterans overcoming challenges like PTSD, to families recovering from natural disasters, to communities working to protect cherished landmarks, our purpose is to lift up those who need it most.

This mission comes to life through signature initiatives such as Red, White & Bourbon, Winner Winner Chicken Dinner, Texas Independence Day, and Hye Steaks. Each event blends fellowship and celebration with fundraising that fuels real impact. Special bourbon releases like Lady Bird extend this tradition, channeling the passion of bourbon lovers into conservation and education. Large-scale relief efforts, such as Panhandle Proud and Hill Country Strong, demonstrate how quickly we can rally resources when Texans face disaster.
